Rensselaer partners with PACE

Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering, PACE, is an exciting opportunity for Rensselaer. It is a consortium of companies (GM, EDS, Sun Microsystems and UGS) that support strategically selected academic institutions. There are currently approximately 25 PACE institutions world-wide including Virginia Tech, BYU, Purdue, and MIT.

PACE provides hardware and software (life-cycle managment (PLM) software tools) in the interest of developing the next generation of automotive engineers, designers, and managers.

The PACE program is pleased to introduce Wacom Technology Corporation as a new "PACE contributor." They provide pen tablets for industrial and concept design professionals. You can learn more about their products at

Rensselaer, as a PACE institution, can apply for new and used Wacom tablets through three separate offers: PACE Jump-Start Tablet Hardware Program - Ability to Request Used Pen Tablets Coming Out of GM, PACE/Wacom New Tablet Grant Offer, and Special Discount for Wacom Products for All PACE Institutions. Although these offers particularly target PACE Design institutions, they are also open to PACE institutions with an engineering focus.

If you are interested, please contact Mark Miller for more information. Requests are due to the PACE office by December 1, 2006.
